Just like grandma used to make! This bar is old-fashioned lye soap which was very popular hundreds of years ago.
Our Lye Soap is most likely a little milder than Grandma's was.
This bar contains no colors or fragrances. It is a pure, natural handmade soap made the the way it was made decades ago.
Handmade soap on this list contains all-natural ingredients, but you won’t find any sulfates, parabens, phthalates, or triclosan irritating foaming agents.
All these ingredients can be harmful, Some ingredients can strip off all the natural oils from your skin leaving it dry and itchy.
Ever wonder why some commercial "soaps" are called "beauty bars" or "cleansing bars" instead of soap? That's because they are NOT soap.
Their chemical makeup is closer to industrial degreasers than soap. Our soaps at Natural Handcrafted Soap Company are NOT made with any of these harmful substances.
We use ingredients like Organic Coconut Oil, Lanolin, Greek Olive oil from our friend's olive farm ( Organic) in Greece, sustainable Palm oil, and more.
Therapeutic grade essential oils, and pure distilled water in our soaps -
Copaiba
also has natural purifying antibacterial properties and is known to
help
soothe blemished skin. The addition of Tree, leaves makes this soap a gentle exfoliate.
Coconut milk Acai berry and Shea butter make it a mild smooth soap with a great refreshing lather
History
The history of Shea butter as an invaluable cosmetic traces back to Ancient Egypt where Queen Cleopatra always kept in stock jars of pure, unrefined Shea butter.
Today Shea Butter is known as “women’s gold” because it is a valuable source of income for women in the West African community.
How is it made?
Shea Butter comes from an indigenous African tree called Vitellaria paradoxa. These are
wild-growing trees producing tiny, almond-like fruit that every May start falling on the ground. Villagers harvest the fruits, separate them from the nut, then boil and let the butter oat to the surface.
The butter is then milled and littered for impurities, packaged in huge blocks, loaded on large boats, and shipped to the US for packaging and resale.
Organic Unfiltered Extra Virgin Greek Olive Oil is used in all our soaps and shipped directly to us from a friend's organic olive farm in Greece that's been in his family for over 100 years.
Ingredients: Organic Unfiltered Olive Oil, Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil, Organic Coconut Milk, Organic Acai Berry Butter, Brazilian Organic Unfiltered Copaiba Oil, Organic Brazilian Almond Oil, Organic Unrefined Shea Butter, Organic Brazilian Unrefined Cupuacu Butter, Brazilian Copaiba Leaf.
